Why Tom?

Stuttering is a complex disorder.

Stuttering treatment is a contentious issue for speech-language pathologists and has posed a pressing challenge for decades.

There are many treatments for stuttering; however, there is little agreement as to which should be used and when treatment should begin.

Most speech therapists might treat one or two kids in a year that stutter. More important than the treatment that is used is the therapist that is chosen.

You are in good hands.

Over the years, I have worked with literally 100s of stuttering and fluency patients ranging from pre-school to adults. No two stutterers are the same: Neurogenic stutterers, Psychogenic stutterers, Childhood/Developmental Stutterers, or Chronic Stutterers.

My clients include CEOs, NFL referees, and stay-at-home moms – I’ve seen it all.

Stuttering is a multi-faceted issue with physical, cognitive, and emotional components that all need addressing. And that’s why my approach to stuttering therapy sets me apart.

Most speech therapists focus primarily on physical techniques, but I take a bit more of a holistic approach. I customize treatment plans according to everyone’s unique stuttering patterns, history, and values.

I have specialized in this area for almost 17 years. During that time, I’ve sat with and cried with clients. But nothing compares to cheering them on and celebrating with them in their accomplishments.

The only phone calls some parents and others regret are those they never made. You don’t need speech therapy; you need an experienced therapist.
