Better therapy is the solution.
You don’t need more speech therapy – you need better speech therapy.
Most speech therapists focus on only the “speech” or “easy speech,” but there’s more to it. Stuttering involves three aspects, including speech, thoughts and feelings, and past experiences.
When people think of stuttering, we often think of only the “speech” part we visibly can see, like the part of the iceberg that sits above the water.
However, what you cannot see (the bottom of the iceberg, which is much bigger) with stuttering – fear, worry, lonesomeness, even depression – most therapists fail to address these aspects.
Communicate confidently.
Our approach emphasizes keeping children talking by helping them remain confident in communicating effectively and managing their stuttering.
We emphasize overcoming and dealing with moments of stuttering without struggle and secondary recoil behaviors.
Healthy attitudes about talking and communication need to develop.

It’s more than talking.
By the time students get to middle and high school, they have usually had lots of speech therapy, 3-4 therapists, and a bunch of opinions about how to handle their speech. While most of these intentions mean well, they are usually counter-productive to fluent talking.
Our multi-faceted approach helps students not only become more fluent, but also helps to develop healthy attitudes about talking and communication in all aspects and situations.
For instance, we train the student in identification and awareness, situational analysis, and self-analysis (e.g., How do I stutter?). We want students to overcome their worries and fears. They will learn modification and shaping strategies and understand how to use them in the real world.
We can help your student gain confidence in ALL situations.
Speech therapy should not occur by trial and error.
Our approach works.
